Around a vast square stand the Barak-Khan Madrasa, Tilla Sheikh Mosque and the Muyi Muborak library, which keeps the Uthman Quran — a 7th-century manuscript.
The square is lit at night, but it looks best by day when the blue domes shine in the sun.
